Do we have to be members of a parish or be Catholic to participate?

No. Victory Sports is available for children of all faiths. We evangelize the Catholic faith and instruct using Catholic social teaching through learning how to play sports. In the registration platform, you can select the parish nearest you or use your address to find the parish nearest you.

What is the weekly virtue instruction?

Victory Sports is a Catholic youth sports league that focuses on growing in the Catholic Faith and in holiness while playing competitive youth sports. Each week of practice, families will receive the virtue instruction for the week. Coaches will also be instructing these virtues during practice and games. With virtue instruction incorporated into learning athletic skills, fundamentals, and teamwork, Victory Sports is helping children and families grow in faith and strive to win not just earthly crowns, but the imperishable crown that lasts forever (Heaven!).

Early bird registration for Victory Sports is $90. Regular registration is $100 and our late registration is $125. If you register more than one child, the second and subsequent children receive a 25% discount off the fee.

Is a uniform included in the registration fee?

Uniform tops and bottoms are included as part of the registration fee. Socks are also included during soccer season.

How are teams assigned?

Athletes are assigned to teams based on their age/grade level, parish they attend* or live next to, and are sorted based on skill to create the most evenly matched teams to promote healthy competition. *Please note that while Victory Sports is a parish-based league, we cannot guarantee that you will play for your parish as we do not have control on registration numbers at any given parish.

What are evaluations?

Prior to the start of each season, athletes attend a mandatory evaluation session where they participate in various skills related to the sport. This process is used to help sort players ensuring good competition and evenly matched teams.

When/Where are practices and games?

Practices are held at the parishes in Bryan and College Station. Game locations depend on the season/sport. Locations and schedule Information can be found under the Leagues tab of our website.

How to know if practices or games are cancelled?

You will be contacted by your child’s coach in regard to practice cancellations and the league will contact you about any potential game cancellations. Texts and emails will be used to communicate cancellations. The communications will be sent to the email and cell number you provide at registration.

What is the inclement weather policy?

Should there be inclement weather, the league will follow the guidelines of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) - click here

Are there rules unique to Victory Sports?

Yes! Victory Sports has unique rules to ensure that athletes are getting a true foundation in fundamentals. Rules are posted at the beginning of each season below the season dates on our Leagues tab. Please familiarize yourself with these unique rules before the first game.

How do you determine age requirements?

Within each sport, athletes will compete on teams within divisions: Pee Wee 1st-2nd grade, Minor 3rd-4th grade, or Major 5th-6th grade. Each division will have age and skill appropriate rules and procedures. Grade/Age requirements are determined by the athlete’s grade/age as of June 1st. Depending on the number of registrants and the best way to create an exciting and competitive atmosphere where the children can best grow in skill, there might be seasons where divisions will be combined and the Minor Division will consist of 1st-3rd grade and a Major Division of 4th-6th grade.

How do I get involved?

Victory Sports thrives with volunteer help! If you are interested in coaching, refereeing, game day operations, score keeping, timekeeping, etc., please see the Volunteers tab of our website and submit your information.

Why do I have to sign up for a volunteer role when registering?

Victory Sports is sustained by volunteer help. We need parental support to ensure the best experience for the children. Parents can sign up to coach (head or assistant), help with game day operations, score keeping, timekeeping, and serve as a team parent. Please see the Volunteers tab for more information.

Will my child need special equipment?

For player evaluations, children should wear athletic style shorts, t-shirt or last year’s jersey, socks and sneakers. Please send a water bottle with your child.

For volleyball season, each athlete will also need her own pair of knee pads for the season. The kneepads with padding that wraps around the sides of the knees are preferable to the type where the cushion is primarily in the front in a bubble-like fashion. Academy has some for purchase and we find that the Nike or Mizuno knee pads are good choices.

During football and soccer season, athletes should wear well gripping tennis shoes or cleats. Mouth guards are recommended.

For basketball, athletes should wear tennis shoes that have good ankle and foot support.

Soccer athletes must have a pair of shin guards to be allowed to participate in practices and games.
